At Bestemor Senior Housing Assistance, we believe that every senior deserves to live with dignity and respect. We are committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care that enhances the quality of life for our clients.
Our Story
Bestemor means “Grandma” or “Best Mom” in Norwegian. It is a word rooted in care, family, and connection, and it reflects the values behind Bestemor Housing.
The photo shown here captures an early chapter of that story. It features our President, Julie Hvitfeldtsen, as a child, celebrating the anniversary of her grandparents, Bestemor Ragna and Bestefar Jakob Hvitfeldtsen, alongside her Aunt Sighnhild and cousin. It is a reminder of the generations that shape us and the importance of family at every stage of life.
Julie’s work in senior housing began during a deeply personal and challenging time. When her own mother needed senior housing, Julie and her family felt overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. They were navigating unfamiliar options, time-sensitive decisions, and concerns about the high cost of care, without realizing that additional resources and options might be available.
That experience became the foundation for Julie’s work. With more than ten years in the senior housing industry, she has helped many families facing similar uncertainty. Bestemor Housing was created so families would not have to navigate these decisions alone.
